IND vs ENG: Which legend's record did Ravindra Jadeja break to create history?
Xtra Time Web Desk: Ravindra Jadeja etched his name in history as he became the fifth Indian bowler to claim 600 wickets in international cricket. The seasoned left-arm spinner reached the milestone during the first ODI against England in Nagpur on Thursday, February 6. Jadeja dismantled England’s batting order with a three-wicket haul, delivering a masterclass in spin bowling at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium.
In the process, Jadeja also overtook James Anderson to become the highest wicket-taker in India-England ODIs. He surpassed Anderson’s tally of 40 wickets, securing the top spot in the elite list.

Jadeja’s international wicket tally now stands at 323 in 80 Tests, 223 in 198 ODIs, and 54 in 74 T20Is.
Brought into the attack in the 15th over, Jadeja made an immediate impact. He outshone fellow left-arm spinner Axar Patel, who bowled earlier in the innings, by weaving his magic on a turning track.
His first breakthrough came when he trapped Joe Root with a quicker delivery that spun just enough to beat the inside edge and hit the pads. He later dismissed half-centurion Jacob Bethell, who was looking to accelerate in the latter half of England’s innings. Jadeja’s third victim was Adil Rashid, who lost his stumps attempting a slog sweep.

Jadeja’s three-wicket haul, combined with debutant Harshit Rana’s impressive three wickets, helped India bundle out England for 248. The visitors, who had already suffered a 1-4 defeat in the T20I series, failed to bat out their full quota of 50 overs in the series opener.
