Xtra Time Web Desk: Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja rescued India from a precarious position on Day 1 of the first Test against Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. India were struggling at 144 for 6 after a fiery display from Bangladesh's bowlers, but Ashwin and Jadeja steadied the ship with a vital 195 runs in seventh-wicket partnership.

The duo added over 100 runs, joining Kapil Dev and Syed Kirmani in an elite group of Indian batting pairs with more than 500 runs in 7th-wicket partnerships or lower in home conditions. This marked their second century partnership, the first being a 130-run stand against Sri Lanka in Mohali.
