However, despite his stellar form, Indian captain Rohit Sharma was visibly upset with him during the final against New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on March 9.

The incident occurred during drinks break after 15 overs when Rohit was addressing the team in an intense huddle. Chakravarthy was absent, prompting an angry reaction from the Indian skipper, who was seen furiously calling him to join the discussion. The animated exchange quickly went viral on social media.

Chakravarthy has been one of India’s most impactful bowlers in the tournament. In three matches, he bowled 30 overs, claiming eight wickets at an average of 18.12. His standout performance came in the group stage against New Zealand, where he picked up a brilliant 5/42. Against Australia, he delivered another solid spell of 2/49, maintaining a commendable economy rate of 4.83 in the tournament.

Despite missing out on dismissing Rachin Ravindra twice in the same over during the final, Chakravarthy remained crucial in India’s bowling attack. He cleaned up blackcaps opener will Young for just 15 runs. His disciplined performances, coupled with his ability to deliver breakthroughs, have made him an invaluable asset.
