IPL 2019: Spectacular catches that will leave you spellbound
XtraTime Web Desk: As the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2019) approaches the business end, we had seen some great catches taken in the tournament. Here are a few spectacular catches from the tournament so far that will leave the fans spellbound.
KL Rahul (Kings XI Punjab) | Match No. 4 – Rajasthan Royals vs Kings XI Punjab The Kings XI Punjab opener took a blinder running to his left from the long off boundary to see the back of Rajasthan Royals batsman Steve Smith. Smith tried a lofted shot over the covers off Sam Curran but Rahul plucked the catch out of thin air. Dhawal Kulkarni (Rajasthan Royals) | Match No. 8 – Rajasthan Royals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad The lanky fast bowler of Rajasthan Royals timed his jump to perfection fielding at the long off boundary to bring out a spectacular one-handed catch to send back Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Johny Bairstow off the bowling of Shreyas Gopal. Kieron Pollard (Mumbai Indians) | Match No. 15 – Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings Perhaps the best catch of the season. Yet another instance of a fielder timing his jump to perfection. Mumbai Indians all-rounder Kieron Pollard took a one-handed stunner at the boundary to dismiss Chennai Super Kings batsman Suresh Raina.The big man did not let the ball slip out of his hands as he tumbled over the ground. Ben Stokes (Rajasthan Royals) | Match No. 25 – (Rajasthan Royals vs Chennai Super Kings) Ben Stokes plucked a terrific catch out of thin air. Chennai Super Kings batsman square cut a delivery outside the off stumps from Joffre Archer. The ball was traveling and looked to pass Stokes who was fielding at point. The England all-rounder exhibited tremendous reflexes to jump and stretch his hands out to reach for the ball which got stuck in his right hand. Jos Buttler (Rajasthan Royals) | Match No. 4 – (Rajasthan Royals vs Kings XI Punjab) Rajasthan Royals wicketkeeper-batsman threw his body with his hands full stretched to his right to catch the edge from Kings XI Punjab opener KL Rahul off the bowling of Dhawal Kulkarni. The ball seemed to be out of reach and leaving the England cricketer. Risabh Pant (Delhi Capitals) | Match No.10 – (Delhi Capitals vs Kolkata Knight Riders) The Delhi Capitals wicketkeeper took a stunner behind the wickets to remove Kolkata Knight Riders opener Chris Lynn. The pull from Lynn was flying away from Pant, who decided to jump with his left hand stretched as the ball stuck in his gloves. Shreyas Gopal (Rajasthan Royals) | Match No.25 – (Rajasthan Royals vs Chennai Super Kings) The Rajasthan Royals leg spinner, who has impressed with his bowling, took this stunner on the field. Running backward towards the boundary, Gopal never took his eyes off the ball as he made the catch look so simple. Faf du Plessis (Chennai Super Kings) | Match No. 29 – (Kolkata Knight Riders vs Chennai Super Kings) The Proteas ODI captain fielding at long off ran a good 30 yards and dived full stretched in front to hold on to the catch to remove Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Robin Uthappa off the bowling of Imran Tahir. Steve Smith (Rajasthan Royals) | Match No. 45- (Rajasthan Royals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad) The Rajasthan Royals captain simply took a blinder to remove his compatriot David Warner from Sunrisers Hyderabad. Warner mistimed a lofted shot over the covers and looked to be landing in no man's land. Smith had other ideas as he sprinted backward from mid-off and threw his body to hold on to the catch that set the tone for a remarkable comeback win for the Pink army. Jaydev Unadkat (Rajasthan Royals) | Match No.45 – (Rajasthan Royals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad) Rajasthan Royals medium pacer Joydev Unadkat timed his jump to perfection to take a one-handed catch off his own bowling to remove Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Deepak Hooda.IPL 2019: Best Catches https://t.co/0EUF6zTRUO via @ipl
