Xtra Time Web Desk: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is in full preparation mode for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, which Pakistan will host. Recently, a five-member International Cricket Council (ICC) team arrived in Pakistan to inspect venues for the prestigious event. The delegation includes top officials from the ICC's Events and Security Departments, as well as the General Manager of Cricket and Production Manager. ICC Pitch Consultant Andy Atkinson has also made three visits to Pakistan since April to oversee preparations.

One key point of discussion during the delegation’s visit is the tentative tournament schedule, submitted by PCB months ago. According to sources quoted by PTI, a crucial detail involves the Indian team being based in Lahore for their matches. Additionally, contingency plans will be considered if the Indian government does not permit the team to travel to Pakistan.

The ICC team will inspect ongoing construction in Karachi and assess hotel arrangements for teams, followed by similar evaluations in Islamabad and Lahore. The security briefings from Pakistani officials are also part of their agenda.

Meanwhile, the BCCI has yet to confirm whether India will participate in the event in Pakistan, reminiscent of their decision to opt for a hybrid model for the 2023 Asia Cup, which was also hosted by Pakistan.
