Xtra Time Web Desk: India's young sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal has proved again why he is one of the best in this generation! He just not only provided India a strong start but also joined an elite list. Jaiswal scripted history by becoming the only third batter to smash a century on his maiden appearance in the longer format on Australian soil.

Jaiswal joined an elite club of Indian legends with a Perth masterclass. Before Jaiswal, ML Jaisimha (101 runs in Brisbane in 1967-68) and Sunil Gavaskar (113 in Brisbane in 1977-78) achieved this feat. Notably, all three tons came in India’s second innings.

Although Jaiswal failed to score in the first innings of the first test against Australia but came back stronger in the second innings showcasing his resistance, skills and ability to score runs. He has provided India a good start by scoring 161 with KL Rahul scoring 77. India is now at 316 with 7 wickets in hand.
