Xtra Time Web Desk: Former Team India head coach and cricketer Ravi Shastri has hailed Ravichandran Ashwin's career, emphasising his adaptability and tactical brilliance. He highlighted how Ravichandran Ashwin’s eagerness to adapt change and evolve according to that with made him an exceptional player throughout his career. 

While talking on the ICC review show, Shastri stated, "I think what stands out for me was his wanting to evolve all the time. He wasn't the kind of guy satisfied as to where he started. He wanted new tricks to be learned. He pursued it, practiced hard at it and continued to look for new things as his career progressed, to keep up with the times."

He further added, “His legacy will be of being a terrific match-winner, a fabulous record, 537 sticks. I mean anyone over 500 (in Test cricket) is special." Ashwin's legacy is as much about his craft on the field as it is about his analytical mind and willingness to challenge norms. Ashwin is a man who highlight how to blend tradition and modernity can run together on the field. He had been a part of many controversial incidents but he always stood tall for his intelligence and logical thinking. A man who set milestones on the field and grabbed lens for being a part of debates off the field.
