Skipper Rohit Sharma, who had a forgettable outing in Adelaide with twin failures, looked more composed during his net session. After returning to the squad following paternity leave, Rohit practiced against both spin and pace, facing Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Akash Deep with confidence. Rohit’s batting position remains under speculation, with questions over whether he will reclaim his opening role or continue at No. 6.
In a boost for India, Jasprit Bumrah bowled at full intensity during the session, easing concerns after a groin injury scare in Adelaide. The pacer’s recovery will be key as India prepares to face a resurgent Australian team.
India will look to draw inspiration from their famous Gabba victory in 2021 as they gear up for a crucial third Test in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
