Xtra Time Web Desk: India A pacer Prasidh Krishna impressed with a standout all-round display against Australia A in the second unofficial Test, raising his prospects for a Test recall ahead of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. His match-winning contributions with both bat and ball could see him secure a place in India's pace lineup for the Perth Test on November 22.

In a fiery spell at the start of Australia A’s second innings, Prasidh made an immediate impact by taking two wickets in his first over. He dismissed Marcus Harris and Cameron Bancroft for golden ducks, leaving Australia A reeling. Prasidh's full-length delivery to Harris swung in slightly, finding the inside edge and being collected by wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel. On the very next ball, Prasidh trapped Bancroft, signaling the kind of incisive swing and seam movement that could trouble Australia's top order on the bouncy Perth track.

Earlier in the day, Prasidh also contributed with the bat, scoring 29 crucial runs to help India A post 229 in their second innings. His earlier effort with the ball, 4-50 in Australia A's first innings, nearly earned him a five-wicket haul, underlining his ability to apply pressure with the ball and control the game.

Prasidh's bowling throughout the match highlighted his command over bounce and movement. He broke important partnerships, dismissing Jimmy Peirson with a delivery that rose sharply, which was taken by Jurel at short leg. Later, he claimed Harris' wicket again, with the left-hander edging a drive to Jurel while on 74. Prasidh also removed Scott Boland, who was caught by Abhimanyu Easwaran at first slip.

With India's selection panel set to name the third pacer for the Test series, Prasidh’s lethal mix of bounce, seam movement, and confidence makes him a strong contender, particularly with uncertainty surrounding Mohammed Shami’s return to the squad.
