Xtra Time Web Desk : The resurgence of Kuldeep Yadav has been the biggest takeway for IPL 2022 so far. Kuldeep who took just 5 wickets in last two IPL seasons is now second in the wicket taker’s list behind Yuzuvendra Chahal. The left arm spinner has picked 13 wickets so far from 6 matches for the Delhi Capitals at an average of 14.30 and economy rate of 7.85.

A change in franchise has seen a massive turnaround in case of Kuldeep who has rediscovered himself at the DC set up. He hardly got an opportunity while he was at the Kolkata Knight Riders owing to poor form. At Delhi Capitals, Head Coach Ricky Ponting and Captain Rishabh Pant has given him the freedom to express himself and that has worked wonders. Kuldeep on Wednesday night picked up his third straight player of the match award for figures of 2/24 against Punjab Kings. He picked the wickets of Kagiso Rabada and Nathan Ellis in successive deliveries.

Kuldeep Yadav is a perfect example of a cricketer performing to his best after being given the confidence and clarity of role by the DC team management.

The left arm wrist spinner himself admitted after the Punjab Kings match that he has plenty of confidence this season and he is also mentally be clear with his role. All he has been doing so far is just focus on his line and length and not on what the batter is going to do. He is not too bothered when he has erred in length. He has rediscovered his wrong ‘un and the flipper, which has been his strength.

High on confidence Kuldeep now listens more to his gut feel rather than seeing videos of batters as match preparation. The left arm wrist spinner is ticking the right boxes and with the consistent form Kuldeep is definitely on track for a comeback into the India team. Can the fans see the back of Kul-Cha under Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid, only time will tell.
