There were many key performers with captain Rohit Sharma leading the way with a brilliant 86 runs. Shreyas Iyer too scored an unbeaten fifty. The bowlers led by Jasprit Bumrah were also brilliant. The fielding was also excellent as the players didn't drop any of the chances that came their way.

Team India wicketkeeper batter KL Rahul was stupendous behind the stumps and he took a brilliant catch to dismiss Imam-ul-Haq off the bowling of Hardik Pandya. Recognizing his effort on the field, Team India’s fielding coach T Dilip chose Rahul as the best fielder of the game against Pakistan.

The Indian team management introduced a best fielder award during the ongoing World Cup. The first recipient of the award went to Virat Kohli for his effort on the field against Australia in Chennai. Shardul Thakur, who got the best fielder award in the second game against Afghanistan, handed the medal to Rahul.

The Indian cricket team will leave for Pune on Sunday where they will take on Bangladesh in their fourth game on October 19.
