XtraTime Web Desk: India’s experienced fast bowler Ishant Sharma started training outdoors for the first time amidst the uncertainty when cricket will return in the country due to the coronavirus pandemic. The fast bowler shared a couple of pictures and a small video clip of him training outdoors on his instagram handle. He wrote, “Engaging myself with positivity and practicing while maintaining social distancing.”

Not only Ishant but a few other Indian cricketers have started training outdoors. Ishant’s bowling partner in the whites Mohammad Shami has been training outdoors for quite some time. Shami in fact has started bowling as well. India’s test batsman Cheteshwar Pujara too started some light outdoor exercise.

The 31 year old Ishant was passing through the best phase of his career for last few months. Together with Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah, the trio has been instrumental in helping India pull out some great victories both home and away. The veteran pacer is one of the reasons why India’s pace unit is currently referred as one of the best in the world.

Ishant, who doesn’t play ODIs and T20Is for India, will now be seen in action against Australia later this year. He was instrumental along with Shami and Bumrah for India’s historic series win during the last tour Down Under in 2018-19.

The senior fast bowler has played 97 Tests for India picking up 297 wickets including 11 five-wicket hauls. He was recently nominated for the prestigious Arjuna award by the BCCI.
