Xtra Time Web Desk: In an IPL 2024 showdown at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on this Super Sunday, 7th April, finalists of IPL 2020 edition, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians were up against each other. Mumbai defeated Delhi by 29 runs to register their first win of the season. Wankhede witnessed an extraordinary six hitting display from Romario Shepard in the last over of the first innings against Anrich Nortje, 32 off the final over.

In match No.20 of the IPL 2024, former MI captain Rohit Sharma reached the milestone of 1,000 runs against DC. However, his quest for his first half-century of IPL 2024 was halted by spinner Axar Patel, who dismissed him for 49 off 24 balls. Following Rohit's departure, pacer Anrich Nortje made a significant breakthrough by removing Suryakumar Yadav in his return game at the Wankhede Stadium. Despite a dominant performance by MI openers in the powerplay, Delhi Capitals managed to stage a comeback.

Axar Patel continued his impressive display by taking a remarkable one-handed catch to dismiss Ishan Kishan (42) after the powerplay. Skipper Hardik Pandya contributed with a brisk 39 off 33 balls before Tim David and Romario Shepherd propelled MI to a formidable total. While David was batting at 45 off 21 balls, Shepherd's explosive hitting in the final over, bowled by pacer Anrich Nortje, saw him score 32 runs. Shepherd's exceptional six-hitting display propelled MI to a commanding total of 234-5 in their allotted 20 overs.

While chasing 235 runs, the Capitals were restricted to 205/8 in 20 overs. For Mumbai, Gerald Coetzee took 4 wickets. Opener got back his form and went n to score blistering 66 off 40 balls, Tristan Stubbs again impressed with his batting skill, remained unbeaten at 71. Unfortunately contributions did nit from other batters, which was much needed to chase the massive total of 235.
