Xtra Time Web Desk: Kolkata Knight Riders rising star Shubman Gill spoke about strike rate recently. According to Gill, striking rates are overrated. On Monday during an intra squad match of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Gill smashed 35 balls 76 at a strike rate of over 200 indicating he is not bothered with the strike rates.

In a recent interview to news agency PTI, Gill said, “I think strike-rate is kind of overrated.”

He added, “It’s all about how you adapt to a certain situation. If the team demands you to play with a strike rate of 200 you should be able to do it. If the team demands you to play at a strike rate of 100, you should be able to do it. It’s just about adapting to the match situation.”

The intra squad match was played between Team Purple versus Team Gold. Chasing a target of 88 runs to win in 10 overs, Gill made the target look easy with his free flowing batting. He struck 11 boundaries and 3 sixes to help Team Gold win by 10 wickets at the DY Patil stadium. Other notable performances in the match was from new recruit Venkatesh Iyer who picked three wickets and Kamlesh Nagarkoti who scalped two.
