XtraTime Web Desk: The Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) matches are likely to start early from IST 7:30PM in UAE, although a final decision on the matter is to be taken at the Governing Council meeting on Friday or Saturday. Normally the evening matches of the cash rich league begin from IST 8PM. It is learnt that broadcasters Star India and BCCI are deliberating on an early start of the evening matches.

The BCCI has already zeroed in on the tentative dates for the IPL 2020 this year from September 26-November 08. The broadcasters though (as reported earlier in Xtra Time) want the season to extend till Diwali weekend i.e., November 14. The number of days will have to be increased from 44 days to 51 days in that case. It will also mean the double headers will be less this season. But everything will be finally decided once the Governing Council members meet over this weekend.

The following matters will come up for discussion during the IPL GC meeting:
Schedules, dates and format of IPL 2020
Logistics and operations
Sponsorships
Follow up on getting Government approval
Liaison with Emirates Cricket Board
