XtraTime Web Desk: Chennai Super Kingsā€™s inspirational captain MS Dhoni along with Suresh Raina, Deepak Chahar, Pyush Chawala, Kedar Jadhav and Karn Sharma reached Chennai today to attend a preparatory camp for the upcoming 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020). All the cricketers were arranged for a pick up by special Vistara flight from Mumbai, Delhi and Ranchi. The Chennai Super Kings players will attend a five day pre season training camp at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium starting from August 15.


The Tamil Nadu government had given written permission to the Super Kings to conduct the camp at the Chepauk, behind closed doors. The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) kept the ground and the practice net facilities at the Chepauk.

Promiment names missing the camp are Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh and Shardul Tahkur. The trio will be missing the camp because of personal commitments.


The three-time champion will take around 10 bowlers to the UAE, with an equal mix of pacers and spinners . The State seamers include M. Mohammed, J. Kousik and Abhishek Tanwar, who were part of the Ranji side last season. L. Vignesh and Aswin Crist, who is in the recovery phase after a stress-fracture surgery, have been included alongside left-arm spinner Aushik Srinivas and leg-spinner M. Abhinav.


The cricketers will assemble in Chennai before the team leaves for Dubai. All the cricketers and support staffs have been asked to have COVID-19 tests done at home before reaching Chennai. Dhoni too underwent Covid19 test in Ranchi and his results came negative.
