India versus South Africa T20I series: Selectors to pick squad on the eve of IPL 2022 final
Xtra Time Web Desk: The Indian team for forthcoming five match T20 Series against South Africa will be picked on the eve of IPL 2022 final. Chetan Sharma led selection committee will pick 15 member Indian team. The selectors are likely to give rest to senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami. Kohli is likely to be rested for the two match T20I series against South Africa as well.
According to reports, the selectors will pick the squad on the basis of performances in the ongoing IPL season. The names of Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh, Mohsin Khan, Abhishek Sharma will be discussed in the selection meeting. Experienced opener Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw will be in the reckoning as well.
But the biggest talking point will be the return of Hardik Pandya. The Gujarat Titans captain has been in superb form in IPL 2022 and should make it to the T20 squad.
