India set to host Women's AFC Asian Cup 2022
XtraTime Web Desk: Good news for women’s football in the country as India will be hosting the Women’s AFC Asian Cup 2022. This will be the first time that a continental senior women’s football tournament will be staged in the country. By virtue of being the host nation, Indian women footballers will get an opportunity to showcase their talent in such a big stage.
The tournament is slated to be held during December 2022 with the final stretching to January 2023. Ahmedabad and Navi Mumbai are being selected as the two possible venues to stage the event. The country will also host the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup next year. So, it is expected that this two events will help promote the beautiful game of football among the women in the country.
