Xtra Time Web Desk: India’s star wrestler Bajrang Punia stormed into semis (FS 65kg) with an emphatic win over Iranian grappler Morteza Ghiasi. It was a close fight as Bajrang trailed 0-1 in Quarter 1. But the World No 1 Indian wrestler used all his experience to sail through. He won the bout with a pinfall.

Bajrang will be up against reigning Olympic medalist & 3 time World Champion Haji Aliyev in semi finals. Bajrang will take confidence from the fact that he defeated Aliyev in Pro Wrestling League bout 2 yrs back.

Another Indian wrestler Seema Bisla lost her opening round bout 1-3 to Sarra Hamdi of Tunisia in freestyle 50kg category for women. It was a bizarre strategy from Seema to go on the defensive even when she was 0-2 down in 2nd period. By the time she woke up, it was too late. She will not have a chance in repechage as well as Hamdi lost her quarter final bout.
