IND v IRE 1st T20I: Deepak Hooda guides India to a convincing 7 wicket win over Ireland

Xtra Time Web Desk: Deepak Hooda played a responsible knock (47*) as India convincingly defeated Ireland by 7 wickets in the first T20I at the Malahide Cricket Club on Sunday. Chasing a target of 109, India chased down the total with 16 balls to spare. India captain Hardik Pandya scored a quickfire 24 runs off 12 balls. The visitors take a 1-0 lead in the wo match T20I series.
Earlier, Harry Tector scored an unbeaten 64 as Ireland managed to post a total of 108 for four in 12 overs against India. Despite losing early wickets, Tector and Lorcan Tucker kept their cool, and took Ireland to a challenging total. The match was reduced to 12 overs a side affair after rain had interrupted proceedings on several occasions.
The second and final T20I will be played at the same venue on Tuesday (June 28).
