Xtra Time Web Desk: New Zealand has reclaimed their No 1 test ranking following their 8 wickets win over England in the Edgbaston test match. The BlackCaps achieved a historic test series win against England after 22 years. The BlackCaps have now secured 123 rating points, two more than second placed India. The two teams will face each other in the final of the ICC World Test Championship at Ageas Bowl from June 18.

Earlier in the day, New Zealand crushed hosts England by eight wickets in the second and final Test on Sunday to seal a 1-0 series win after chasing down a target of 38 runs on the fourth day at Edgbaston. This was only the third test series win for the BlackCaps in England and a first since 1999.

England had been reduced to 122-9 at stumps on day three with a slender lead of 37 runs and Olly Stone was caught behind off Trent Boult on the first ball of the day on Sunday, leaving the visitors on the verge of a famous victory.
