Image Source: DSK[/caption] Internet Desk: DSK Shivajians Football Club stack themselves with reasons enough to put on a spirited show when they host Aizawl FC in the Hero I-League 2015-16 at the Shree Shivchhatrapati Sports Complex, Mhalunge-Balewadi, Pune, on Saturday. For starts, the Round-17 clash will be the hosts last in Pune this season. Adding up to the stakes at large is the fact that a positive result will take DSK Shivajians to fourth spot on the table. Adding up is Aizawl FC’s last game shock home loss and the bitter truth is the north-easterners in away games has never won. With winning seeming to be a clear indicator for the hosts with regard to expectations, there is also a flip-side that DSK Shivajians need to be wary of. To begin with; visitors Aizawl FC are fighting relegation and this being their last match winning at any cost is necessary, which works into the hosts facing possible stiff resistance. DSK Shivajians, who have gathered 15 points from their 14 matches in the league, are on a seven-match unbeaten run following their impressive 3-3 comeback draw against the defending champions MohunBagan AC at the Barasat Stadium, Kolkata, last weekend. At home, the Pune-based club has collected 8 points from four unbeaten home matches. Outlining the importance of the last home match of season, DSK Shivajians Head Coach Derrick Pereira said: “It will be tough game for sure. It is Aizawl FC’s last game of the season, and at the same time our last home game. So we want to give a good performance for our fans who have supported us well throughout the campaign.” Aizawl FC (13 points; 15 matches), meanwhile, have struck a purple patch managing just five points from their last seven games and their best away results have been 3 draws and have not managed to keep a single clean sheet. However, while the hosts enjoy statistical and home advantages aplenty, the fact that remains between both teams before Saturday’s fixture is that the reverse fixture in January 2016 saw the Mizoram-based club come out on top 2-0 against an injury-struck DSK Shivajians at Aizawl, Mizoram. When asked about his expectations from tomorrow’s opponents, Pereira added: “It has been a good run in the second leg. We have taken points from each and every team. But Aizawl FC is one team we have to take points from. I'm hoping we play the same way we have been in the last few games and get a good result tomorrow.” The hosts have a full squad available for tomorrow’s game after Spanish maestro Juan Quero recovered from his calf strain he suffered during the last game at Kolkata. Quero, who scored a brace against Mohun Bagan, has been instrumental for the Pune-based club since his signing. The Spaniard will wish to add more goals to his tally before the season comes to a close. Likewise, defender SandeshJhingan, who suffered a gash on his right cheek has also recovered fully. DSK Shivajians’ custodian, Subrata Paul, after his impressive “Man of the Match” performance against Bengaluru FC in the last home match, will hope to keep yet another clean sheet, which would take his total tally to four in the season.
