Bayern dominated the proceedings in the first half with Ivan Perisic giving them an early lead with a header off a cross from Thomas Mueller in the 14th minute. Frankfurt scored the equalizer against the run of play in the second half through Danny Da Costa in the 69th minute. It was left to Lewandowski to net the winner for Bayern five minutes later following a VAR review.

Bayern will now play Bayer Leverkusen in the final in Berlin on July 04. Leverkusen had the better of fourth tier side Saarbruecken in the first semi final on Tuesday as they beat them 3-0.
According to Bayern coach Hansi Flick,"In the first half we should have scored more goals. In the second half we did not do it well." "But it was a Cup game and at the end it was a deserved qualification. It could have been an easier second half if we had done it better in the first."

Having all but secured the Bundesliga title and chasing a 20th German Cup crown, the Bavarians looked on course for a domestic treble.
