Indian teams have enjoyed success before in youth tournaments such as the Gothia Cup, Dana Cup, and several other age-group competitions across Europe. However, what Minerva Academy has achieved is unprecedented for an Indian club or academy. Their remarkable performances have now become a talking point across European football circles.

Minerva Academy successfully defended their Gothia Cup title, becoming champions for the second consecutive year. Just days earlier, they had also lifted the Helsinki Cup, completing a memorable European double. They even registered a stunning 6-0 victory over a Spanish side in another tournament. This extraordinary run of success has earned the Chandigarh-based academy widespread recognition and admiration in Europe.

In the Gothia Cup final, Minerva defeated Brazil's RS Sports Yellow 2-1 to clinch the title in commanding fashion, capping off an outstanding campaign.

Their journey through the tournament was nothing short of spectacular. They began with a 12-0 win over an English team, followed by a 13-1 victory against a Norwegian side. They then crushed a Swedish club 16-0, defeated a Kenyan team 6-2, thrashed another English side 10-1, overwhelmed a French team 17-1, and comfortably beat a Bolivian team 8-0.

Their first real test came in the semi-finals, where they edged past a determined Ukrainian side 3-2. They then completed their dream run by defeating the Brazilian team 2-1 in the final, lifting the prestigious Gothia Cup once again.

These achievements have led many in Europe to describe Minerva Academy as one of the most impressive football academies outside the continent. The academy's success has attracted significant attention and praise across European media and football communities.

The bigger question, however, is for India. While Europe is taking notice of this remarkable Under-12 team from Chandigarh, are we truly appreciating what they have accomplished? More importantly, are we prepared to provide these talented young footballers with the support, opportunities, and long-term development they need to fulfill their immense potential? If nurtured properly, these players could inspire a new era for Indian football.
