All speculation has finally come to an end. Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has married his longtime partner, Georgina Rodriguez. The couple made their marriage public in the simplest way possible—with a picture of their newly exchanged wedding rings.
The 41-year-old Ronaldo and 32-year-old Argentine-Spanish model Georgina Rodriguez reportedly tied the knot in a private ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, on August 11. Their five children were also present at the intimate celebration. The couple later confirmed the marriage by sharing a photograph of their wedding rings on social media.
The wedding had been the subject of speculation for years. In fact, just days before the ceremony, an amusing case of mistaken identity created quite a stir.
Rumours had suggested that Ronaldo and Georgina would get married at a cathedral in Funchal, Madeira, Ronaldo’s birthplace. Hundreds of fans gathered outside the cathedral, hoping to catch a glimpse of the star couple. However, they soon discovered that the bride was not Georgina at all. A woman named Nicole had arrived at the cathedral to marry her partner, Fabio.
Ronaldo and Georgina first met in 2016, when Georgina was working at a Gucci store. They were first seen together publicly at The Best FIFA Football Awards in Zurich in January 2017.
The couple later acknowledged their relationship publicly. Ronaldo once admitted that he had never expected to fall so deeply in love with Georgina. Over time, he came to believe that she was the woman he wanted to spend his life with.
Ronaldo and Georgina have two daughters together, Alana and Bella. They are also raising Ronaldo’s eldest son, Cristiano Jr., and his twins, Eva Maria and Mateo, as a family.
In 2022, the family suffered a heartbreaking loss when Bella’s twin brother, Angel, died shortly after birth.
On August 11, 2025—exactly a year before their reported wedding—the couple announced their engagement. Georgina shared a picture of her engagement ring on social media and wrote: “Yes, I do. In this life and in all my lives.”
After years of anticipation, rumours and speculation, their relationship has finally entered a new chapter.
From wedding rumours to the hilarious confusion outside the Madeira cathedral, the long wait is now part of the past. Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez have finally made their relationship official by getting married and beginning a new chapter together.
