Xtra Time Web Desk: Lionel Messi's exceptional performance led Inter Miami to a thrilling 3-2 victory over Columbus Crew, securing the coveted Supporters' Shield, awarded for the best regular-season record in Major League Soccer. This win also marked Messi’s 46th major trophy, extending his record for the most titles won by any men’s soccer player in history.

Messi, quiet for much of the first half, came alive in the 45th minute, scoring the opener after chesting down a long ball and benefiting from a deflection off Columbus defender Malte Amundsen. He then doubled the lead minutes later with a pinpoint free-kick, curling the ball into the corner past Columbus goalkeeper Patrick Schulte.

Columbus responded quickly in the second half when Diego Rossi pulled a goal back with a clever shot into the far corner. However, a miscommunication between Schulte and defender Rudy Camacho allowed Luis Suarez to head home Miami’s third.

Despite another goal from Columbus via a Cucho Hernandez penalty, their momentum faltered when Camacho was sent off. The Crew had a late chance to level the score with another penalty, but Hernandez’s weak attempt was saved by Miami’s Drake Callender.
