Gary Kirsten served as the head coach of the Indian cricket team from 2008 to 2011, leading them to the 2011 ODI World Cup victory. Harbhajan Singh, who played under Kirsten for the Indian team, has expressed a desire for Kirsten to return as India’s head coach. Responding to Kirsten's alleged comments, Harbhajan tweeted about the possibility of Kirsten becoming the new coach of India.His decision to become Pakistan’s white ball coach, however, might have been a misstep.

Kirsten, who has enjoyed a long and successful career both as a cricketer and a coach, has significant experience managing top players like Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar. Yet, nothing could have prepared him for the challenges he would face with Pakistan.

Kirsten joined the Pakistan team on May 20, but soon began to regret his decision. Within a week, he expressed doubts about Babar Azam and his squad's potential to win the T20 World Cup. After Pakistan lost to India despite leading for about 35 overs, Kirsten pointed out that the team had 'lost the plot' and emphasized that the players needed to 'take more responsibility.'

Adding to the turmoil, recent news has revealed Kirsten's shock at the lack of unity within the team, confirming rumours of a potential rift among teammates. He is also dissatisfied with the team's fitness and skill levels.
