Both are believed to be foreigners and are playing in the ensuing Indian Super League (ISL), according to an official of the club. Among the strikers there are at least three names making the rounds – Delhi Dynamos strikers Marcelinho and Richard Gadze along with Kerala Blasters’ Antonio German.

The source further confirmed that the club is not keen on Brazilian Marcelinho as he is taking too long to decide. The Brazilian footballer, in a recent post on his facebook page, too confirmed that he will not be available for any Indian clubs in January. Marcelinho was Morgan’s first preferred name in the striker’s list. The Dynamos striker is leading the goal scorer list in ISL with 9 goals.

The gaffer has also referred to the name of Kerala Blasters' striker, Antonio German. The English footballer has come through the ranks of the Queens Park Rangers youth set-up. But German is not too keen either, as he wants to concentrate on the ISL semi-finals coming up against Delhi Dynamos.

Delhi Dynamos Ghanaian striker Richard Gadze is also on the radar of East Bengal officials. Gadze is the joint second highest goal scorer in ISL with 5 goals.

The club is also in talks with a Japanese midfielder, Kenta Uchida. The 27-year-old footballer plays for J-League 2 side Ehime FC. He is with Ehime for the last couple of seasons, having scored 4 goals in 16 appearances. The 5ft 10 inches tall midfielder has also plied his trade with J-League 1 sides Sanfrecce Hiroshima and Shimizu S-Pulse. Uchida's present club Ehime F.C finished at 10th position in the J-League 2 this season.
