XtraTime Webdesk: The Indian women’s cricket team have reached the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 final after securing a dominant 40 run victory over Bangladesh in the first semi-final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Shafali Verma have shown a brilliant batting as India defeated Bangladesh by 40 runs in the semi-final of the Women’s Asia Cup 2026. The victory has helped India to get into the final for the 10th time in the history of this tournament.

Verma took every advantage given by the Bangladeshi players and played a crucial role in helping India put enough runs on the board. Richa Ghosh and the captain of Indian women cricket team Harmanpreet Kaur also contributed valuable runs towards the end of the innings.
The bowling performance of India was also top notch; their impressive bowling performance defended their total. The women’s team of Bangladesh heavily struggled to build partnerships and they made only 109 for seven wickets in 20 overs. In this match Deepti Sharma was the star performer with the ball, she took crucial three wickets while putting the Bangladesh batters under pressure.
India is set to play the the Women’s Asia Cup final on September 13. Their opponents will be decided by the second semi-final between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. In this tournament India have remained unbeaten and they will now look to add another Asia Cup title to their record.
Reports says that Asian Cricket Council president Mohsin Naqv4i is expected to attend the closing ceremony and could present the trophy to the winners. However, his possible presence has attracted attention because of the controversy surrounding the trophy presentation after the 2025 men’s Asia Cup final, when India did not accept the trophy from Naqvi.
