India wins series against Sri Lanka; draws 2nd test after Sonal's Dinusha dogged century

Xtra Time Newsdesk: India finished their two-Test series against Sri Lanka with a 1-0 win after the second Test in Colombo ended in a draw on Thursday. India had been in control for most of the match, but Sonal Dinusha’s unbeaten 133 denied them a second victory.
India had declared their first innings at 503/9, with Devdutt Padikkal scoring 117 and Dhruv Jurel making an unbeaten 115. Rishabh Pant also contributed 63. The team, then, bowled Sri Lanka out for 290, gaining a 213-run lead and enforcing the follow-on.

For India, the series still offered several positives. Padikkal was named Player of the Series after an outstanding run with the bat, while Jurel’s 115 further underlined his growing importance. Saransh Jain, making his Test debut at 33, also became one of the notable new faces in India’s squad. Manav Suthar impressed with his left-arm spin, including three wickets in the second innings.
India leave Sri Lanka with the series secured 1-0. The whitewash slipped away on the final day, but the tour gave Indian cricket plenty to look forward to.
