The six zonal teams will battle it out at the BCCI Centre of Excellence, with every performance likely to attract the attention of national selectors. With a demanding international Test calendar ahead, the Duleep Trophy provides an important platform for players to prove their form, fitness and readiness for the longer format.
East Zone will be led by Ishan Kishan, with experienced India pacer Mohammed Shami and Mukesh Kumar adding firepower to the squad. Kishan himself will be keen to make a strong statement and push his case for a return to the national Test setup.
