10 Crore+Dube and Brevis: CSK's Bumper Offer To Mumbai For All Rounder Hardik Pandya Might Shake The IPL

XtraTime Newsdesk: The race to get Hardik Pandya ahead of the 2027 IPL season has just become heated. The Chennai Super Kings(CSK) who are one of the frontrunners to get the all rounder has apparently proposed a bumper trade deal that could benefit them and Pandya's current team, the Mumbai Indians(MI). According to a Hindustan Times Report, CSK has offered Dewald Brevis and Shivam Dube plus Rs 10 crore for the MI all-rounder.

Apparently, MI are seeking heavy returns in lieu of their captain and franchise player leaving their team. Their ideal package included someone like Ayush Mhatre and a seasoned hitter like Shivam Dube to counter the balance issues that plagued their squad in the 2026 season. Mhatre scored 441 runs at an SR of 183 which makes him a vital long-term asset that can be used to rebuild the Mumbai team.

CSK, though, wants to retain Mhatre and are invested in his future. Instead, Chennai has proposed an alternative deal: They have offered Dube, South African dynamic batter Dewald Brevis, and a cash payment of Rs 10 crore to pull off the deal. If accepted, the total asset moved by Chennai could be around or more than 20 crores. Pandya, at the end of the day, is a rare commodity in the league as he is a domestic pace bowling all rounder.

But, last season , he only scored 206 runs and took just four wickets. So, the question is whether CSK is taking a risk by proposing such a deal to acquire a player who hasn't been at his best for some time. Neither team has confirmed or finalized any deal yet and if these negotiations do break down, then there are rival teams such as the Kolkata Knight Riders who can swoop and acquire the all rounder to fill in the gaps they have in the squad.
