Xtra Time Web Desk: MS Dhoni was given a grand welcome by the Chennai Super Kings fans at the airport as he reached the city to attend the preparatory camp of the franchise. The camp will begin from Friday at Chepauk. Hundreds of fans gathered at the airport to catch a glimpse of their favourite cricketer who is also the successful captain of CSK, having led the franchise to 4 IPL titles. Dhoni was seen escorted by security personnel as he came out of the airport. He straightaway jumped into the car and headed to the team hotel.
Dhoni-led CSK will open their campaign against Gujarat Titans in the opening game of the tournament on March 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. They will play their first home game on April 3.
The Chennai Super Kings franchise shared the pic of Dhoni arriving at the hotel as soon as he reached there. “Thala Dharisanam, finally!” the franchise captioned the post. Dhoni has been away from competitive cricket since May 2022 and will hit the field after a long break of 10 months.
Dhoni is expected to take a call on his career after IPL 2023 and this season could be his last. Dhoni will play his last game at MA Chidambaram Stadium on April 3 against Lucknow Super Giants.
