XtraTime Web Desk: The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) received a huge setback as two members of Spanish club Atletico de Madrid has reported to have tested positive for coronavirus ahead of the Champions League quarter finals. One among them is believed to be a first team player. Atletico is set to take on RB Leipzig in the quarter final of Champions League on August 13.

It is worth noting that Atletico's travelling group to Lisbon for the final phase of the Champions League underwent PCR tests before training on Saturday, with the results only becoming known on Sunday afternoon.

So, despite the fact that as soon as the positive results were known the people were put into quarantine, there is a fear that they may have infected some more of the 93-person group who will leave for Portugal on Monday.
Everyone will be tested again on Monday, which may mean that the trip will have to be postponed.

However, everything is up in the air as the club must now wait to see the results of further tests.
According to a statement released by the club, it said, “Yesterday, Saturday 8 August, all members of the first team and the club’s expedition to Lisbon underwent PCR tests at the Ciudad Deportiva de Majadahonda as required by UEFA protocol to participate in the quarterfinals of the Champions League.”

It added, “Among the results known today, two positives have appeared, which are isolated in their respective homes, and which were immediately communicated to the Spanish and Portuguese health authorities, UEFA, the Royal Spanish Football Federation, the Portuguese Federation and the Higher Sports Council.”
