Xtra Time Web Desk: Exactly 13 days after the IPL 2021 was officially suspended by the BCCI, the Australian players, support staffs and commentators returned back to their country from Maldives on Monday. The likes of Steve Smith, David Warner, Glenn Maxwell, Pat Cummins along with 34 others touched down Sydney at 7.30 AM on Monday via Kuala Lumpur on an Air Seychelles flight. The entire contingent were boarded on a coach parked outside the airport and taken to hotel quarantine where they will remain for 14 days before actually getting to see their families and closed ones.

The Australian contingent was moved to the Maldives from COVID-19 ravaged India, where they waited for Australia Government to lift the travel ban. Another Australian, CSK’s batting coach Michael Hussey, will reach Australia from India late night on Monday, after having recovered from COVID-19.The Chennai Super Kings batting coach had tested positive for COVID-19 and was isolating in Chennai. A day before Australia lifted the travel ban, Hussey tested negative and the former Aussie batsman would board a flight from India to return home on Monday.
