Internet Desk: India’s former skipper MS Dhoni is all set make his 300th ODI match when he faces Sri Lanka in the 4th ODI of the five match series. India have currently won the series leads the tie 3-0, wishing for yet another whitewash.

On the eve of his 300th ODI match let us have a look at the Top 5 Dhoni moments:-

1) 2011 World Cup win with a sixer

This probably happens to be the greatest achievement of the MS Dhoni when he guided India to the victory of World Cup finals against Sri Lanka in 2011. Overcoming all odds after facing Australia in quarters and Pakistan in the semis, a relatively younger Indian team won the finals at Mumbai.

Dhoni played a captain’s knock on that night, scoring 91* after promoting himself up the order and finished the game with a sixer as India won the game by six wickets.

2) Opting Joginder Sharma to bowl the last over of 2007 T20 World Cup

MS Dhoni led the Indian side at the inaugural T20 World Cup which was held at South Africa in 2007. Facing arch-rivals Pakistan in the finals, India managed to bowl out the opposition in the last over the game. With star batsman Misbah –ul-Haq on the crease Pakistan were hoping for a victory, when came the mastermind of Dhoni who opted Joginder Sharma to bowl the final over the game. Despite the decision being a gamble, it paid well when Misbah was dismissed after Sreesanth took a brilliant catch.

3) Unbelievable stumping against Bangladesh

Despite failed to win the tournament, one certainly remembers the behind the wicket heroics of Dhoni. The shrewd master showed off his tactics when India defeated Bangladesh by one run and took 3 consecutive wickets on the last three balls of the game.

The unbelievable stumping of Dhoni of Sabbir Rehman is remembered by one and all. Removing the bails off the stumps in the blink of an eye is what makes him one of the best wicket-keepers of recent times.

4) Commonwealth Bank Series win against Australia in 2010

After already establishing himself as a fine captain, Dhoni yet again proved why he is called ‘Captain Cool’. Under his brilliant guidance, India won the Commonwealth Bank Series against a strong Australian side.

Owing to a brilliant performance by Sachin Tendulkar, one must not forget the leadship shown by Dhoni in the series as India won tournament in the best of three finals.

5) 2013 ICC Champions Trophy

India won yet another silverware under the guidance of ‘Captain Cool’ in 2013 at England. Playing against England in a rain interfered final, India comfortably defeated the hosts. A masterclass of tactics and leadership was shown by the Dhoni who remains to be one of the finest captains that the country has ever produced.
