Xtra Time Web Desk: Recently, Zimbabwean international cricketer Ryan Burl shared a post on Twitter that got the fans talking. Burl put out an emotional plea asking for help from sponsors as he shared a photo of his shoes. Burl said he has to glue a pair of shoes after every series due to lack of funds.

The 27-year-old Burl, a left-handed middle-order batsman who has played three Tests, 18 ODIs and 25 T20Is, had tweeted a picture which showed the aforementioned worn-out shoe, a glue stick and some tools to fix it. Burl’s tweet has gone viral with several people asking for sponsors to help them out, and some other people also questioned the distribution of funds among smaller nations in modern cricket.  Sports-gear brand Puma came forward with a sponsorship deal for him later on, bringing a rather wholesome end to the saga for Burl after all was said and done.
