Xavi’s Barcelona earns a thrilling 3-2 win over Elche in La Liga

Xtra Time Web Desk : FC Barcelona finally came back to winning ways in La Liga on Saturday against Elche by a sleek 3-2 margin in what was a thrilling encounter between the two sides.
Although the Catalan giants were playing on their home turf, but they were missing the likes of Memphis Depay, Ansu Fati, Pedri and Martin Brathwaite due to injury problems.

However, the juniors stepped up to grab their opportunity as Barca started to dominate possession from the start and took a 2 goal lead within 20 minutes of the first half as debutant Futiga and youngster Gavi scored two quick fire goals for the hosts in the 16th and 19th minute mark respectively.

But in the second half, Elche made their comeback in to the game as they scored two goals within two minutes. Morente, the substitute scored the first goal for the away side on the 62nd minute to make the scoreline 2-1 before Pere Milla made it 2-2 for the visitors in the 63rd minute. Barcelona however kept on piling pressure and creating opportunities to finally seal the match through substitute Nico Gonzalez at the 85th minute to give the Spanish giants a decisive 3-2 lead.

Barca currently stand 7th in the La Liga with 27 points, although 15 points behind league leaders Real Madrid.
