WTC Final 2023: Rohit Sharma indirectly blame bowlers for loss against Australia at the Oval

Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India captain Rohit Sharma blamed the bowlers for the loss against Australia in ICC World Test Championship final. According to Rohit, the bowling in the first innings let the team down

Rohit won a good toss and decided to bowl first in the overcast conditions on the morning of the first day. Australia was in a spot at 76/3 but Travis Head and Steve Smith scored brilliant hundreds to see Australia overcome the trouble. Both Head (163) and Smith (121) scored hundreds as Australia posted a mammoth 469 runs.

Rohit gave credit to Australian batters and said that the partnership between Smith and Head took them by surprise.

“Got to give credit to the Australian batters. Head came in and played well along with Steven Smith. That just took us off guard a little bit”, Rohit Sharma said in post match conference.

Talking about the controversial decision against Shubman Gill, the Indian skipper said that the third umpire could have taken more time before deciding. The 34-year-old questioned ICC for not using latest technology in a big final.

“We have 10 different angles in the Indian Premier League, I don’t understand why there wasn’t any ultra motion or zoom in shown for Shubman Gill’s dismissal,” Rohit Sharma said during press conference.

India’s wait for an ICC title extended as they suffered a 209-run defeat in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final at The Oval on Sunday. Needing 444 runs to win the test, the star-studded Indian batting line up were bowled our 234 runs in the second innings, losing the test and WTC Final by 209 runs.
