Rooney Scores Winner As United Beats Swansea

Image Courtesy : twitter[/caption] London — Manchester United got back to winning ways after Wayne Rooney ended Red Devils eight-game winless run with a back-heeled flick in a 2-1 victory over Swansea in the Premier League on Saturday, while Arsenal edged Newcastle 1-0 to move two points clear on top of Premier League . Anthony Martial put United ahead at Old Trafford but Gylfi Sigurdsson equalized with a header, before Rooney stylishly converted Martial’s low cross after 77 minutes. At the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal kept their hopes alive of a Premier League title with a 1-0 win over Newcastle impressed . Laurent Koscielny scored from close range in the 72nd minute to hand Arsene Wenger’s men the much needed victory. The win gives Arsenal a small advantage in first place as Leicester drew 0-0 at home to 10-man Bournemouth. Elsewhere, West Ham beat Liverpool 2-0, Norwich beat Southampton 1-0, West Bromwich Albion overcame Stoke 2-1 and Sunderland beat Aston Villa 3-1.
