Rio Paralympics: Mariyappan Thangavelu clinches Gold while Varun Bhati wins Bronze

Internet Desk: India's biggest bets in Rio Paralympics performed with indomitable spirit as Mariyappan Thangavelu created history today in the morning by winning a gold medal and Varun Singh Bhati clinched bronze in the men's high jump T-42 event at the Rio Paralympics 2016.
The gold medallist Thangavelu made a leap of 1.89 metres when Varun Bhati jumped his personal best of 1.86 metres to finish third. USA's Sam Grewe grabbed the silver medal. Though India's other medal prospect in high jump Sharad Kumar finished at number six.
The Indian trio already created history by representing as the top 3 in world ranking from India. The two illusive medals will certainly boost the other Indian athletes of the contingent to go for glory.
