Xtra Time Web Desk : Former Team India bowler Ajit Agarkar is said to be a candidate to take up the role for Team India's bowling coach, according to a Times of India report.

As per sources, a senior decision making cricketer in the squad is said to be keen on Agarkar replacing the current bowling coach, Paras Mhambrey.

"The senior player, who plays a vital role in decision-making in Indian cricket now, wants an experienced hand like Agarkar guiding the bowlers till the 2023 ODI World Cup. Mhambrey is a good bowling coach and can look after budding bowlers at India A, India Under-19 and at pacers the National Cricket Academy," said a source to TOI about the above matter.

Agarkar played 28 Tests, 191 ODIs and four T20Is for Team India India from 1998 to 2007. The 44 year old picked up 58 wickets in Tests, 288 wickets in ODIs, and three wickets in T20Is
