World Cup qualifier of Uruguay under cloud following players’ threatening

File Pic.[/caption] Internet Desk: Sponsorship issues brought the World Cup qualifier of Uruguay under confusion. Following this issue star players of the team threatened of boycott the qualification matches starting from 1st September. An Uruguayan newspaper revealed that players like Luis Suarez and another striker Edinson Cavani threatened that the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF) must not miss the multi-million dollar sponsor Nike. Accoding to another Uruguayan newspaper the footballers also have demand of democratization within the team management. Uruguay is currently leading the table of World Cup qualifier teams of South America. In six matches, they have 13points with four wins. In the same table Brazil is at the sixth position. Only fourteams will directly qualify for the World Cup. The fifth one has to compete in inter-confederation qualifiers. Uruguay will start their second phase journey of the World Cup qualifier from 1st September against Argentina. That team is at the third spot of the qualifier, so they will try heart and soul to win the match to grab the 1st position. Amidst this situation the threatening of the top players worried the association a little.
