Kolkata: The tussle between I-League and ISL is a trending topic in Indian football right now. Many football critics think that with the brand value of ISL the Kolkata giants East Bengal and Mohun Bagan won’t get good footballers in I-League. Though former Kerala Blasters player Ishfaq Ahmed has a different opinion. According to Ishfaq clubs like East Bengal and Mohun Bagan will always get players wherever they play.

“This is a fact that the players want some comfort while playing for a side, they want to represent their club wherever they play. You don’t want to be a bench warmer in your side. A player only signs for a team if he thinks that he will get a chance in the playing XI. But according to me the players will always be available for the sides like Mohun Bagan and East Bengal,” said Ishfaq.

Ishfaq has completed his B license coaching course few days back and in a few days time he will apply for his A license too.” I have completed my B licensing few days back and will apply for the A license in next few days. In future I want to be the coach of sides like East Bengal or Mohun Bagan. It is one of my dreams,” added Ishfaq.

The new born ISL franchise Tata has offered him the post of Assistant Manager. On being asked about the matter Ishfaq replied,” Yes they have talked with me about this matter. I haven’t taken any decision till now. After Eid  I will talk to them again and then I can tell everyone about my future.”

“If Kerala Blasters want me in their team management I have no problem to talk with them, but I think Thangboi Singto has already joined Kerala as their Assistant coach,” concluded Ishfaq.
