Internet Desk: India’s pace spearhead Umesh Yadav has finally fulfilled his father’s wishes of being a government officer, after he has been appointed as an assistant manager in Reserve Bank of India’s Nagpur branch.

Umesh joined his office on Monday, just a day before of his departure for the forthcoming Sri Lanka series, as per Times of India.

More than 10 years ago, Umesh had applied for the post of constable in the police department. But unfortunately, he failed to qualify for the post by a narrow margin.

The talks between him and the RBI had been going for a while. Quoting a source, the report said: “The talks were on before the Champions Trophy. He had met RBI officials before leaving for England in May. The officials gave a go ahead to his appointment in sports quota but due to national duties he couldn’t complete formalities.”

Though his happiness didn’t last long as Umesh was robbed of cash and two mobile phones after unidentified goons broke into his flat on Monday. The incident had happened between 7 to 9pm, when Umesh and his family were not at home. Inspector B.R. Khandale told that the police control room received a call at around 3:30 am, which informed the police about the burglary that took place in Umesh’s flat on the ninth floor in the Lakshminagar area.
