Kolkata: The question was roaming around after each and every training session when East Bengal gaffer Trevor Morgan used to meet the media. But today, after the training session, when Trevor was asked about Sony Norde, as the most potent threat for the Red & Gold brigade yet again, and the East Bengal coach reacted this time, “Who said Sony is the most important plaayer for Mohun Bagan? They have Katsumi, Jeje, Duffy as well and all of them are quality players.”

The East Bengal gaffer though denied to make any comment on their arch rivals as he said, “Me and Sanjoy respect each other a lot. But he is concerned only about his team and same with me as well. All I can say is that we are going to play two back to back games and our focus would be to get full six points of that.”

The East Bengal side was a bit concerned about the fitness of their star forward Willis Deon Plaza in the last couple of days. But today, Trevor said, “Plaza is getting better. He will also be there in the squad and is travelling with us to Siliguri.

The British coach though is not bothered about the condition of the playing surface. He said, “I didn’t play too many games there at Siliguri. I can recall that I had won a Fed Cup derby in that venue and also played a pre-season game this time with Bhaichung’s team. The ground won’t be a factor.”

Robin Singh has been one of the heroes of the Kolkata derby in the modern era and specially with Trevor Morgan his record in Kolkata derbies is very much illusive. But Robin too seemed very much focused about the big occasion. He said, “I don’t love to remember the old stats. Certainly, I will enjoy with my team if we win it, as it is a historic game. But for me, this will be a new game for me and if I get to play, I will give my best to win it.”

The team had flown to Siliguri in the afternoon and reached the hill city safely. They will also train tomorrow over there.
