Who is MS Dhoni’s replacement in the Indian team according to Kohli?

Kohli Dhoni

XtraTime Web Desk: Indian cricket team’s captain Virat Kohli feels that the former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is irreplaceable in the limited-overs format and he is an asset for the team.

The Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) chief Vinod Rai spoke about how the Indian captain depends of Dhoni’s cricketing brain in the limited overs format.

While taking about the relationship between current and formar India skippers, Rai feels that there is a mutual respect and they have an exceptional bonding as well.”Their camaraderie is exceptional with so much mutual respect. Virat respects Dhoni’s cricketing acumen and Dhoni respects what Virat is achieving as a player,” Rai was quoted as saying by PTI on Sunday.

Rai further claimed that Kohli has told CoA that Dhoni, is nothing but irreplaceable in this limited-overs side.”In fact, Virat has told the CoA why he thinks Dhoni is irreplaceable in the limited overs set up as of now,” he said.

Kohli got the captain’s baton in Tests back in December 2014 after Dhoni announced his retirement from the longest format in the middle of the Australia Test series. Dhoni though is playing ODIs and T20Is after that.

Not only Dhoni’s game reading but also his wicket-keeping skills also make him an asset for the Men in Blue. “Virat feels that there are no faster pair of gloves than MS Dhoni today. Also, Dhoni’s cricketing mind honed over so many years is an asset for Virat. As far as how many years of cricket is left in him, time and his performance will tell,” he said.
