Internet Desk: The whole world today saw the love affair between former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Chennai crowd again during the first ODI against Australia. Dhoni gets a standing ovation from a jam packed crowed at Chepauk after the Men in Blue lost early wickets against the Aussies today.

India skipper Virat Kohli too got huge cheer when he came to bat after the dismissal of Ajinkya Rahane, but Kohli failed to live up to the expectations of the fans as a brilliant catch from Glenn Maxwell sent the home skipper back to the pavilion on a duck.

The BCCI posted a video of the same on social media and their Twitter post read: “The King returns to Chennai #TeamIndia #IndvAus”

Dhoni is regarded as god in this region due to his brilliance performance with the bat for the national team and also for his brilliant record with his former Indian Premier League side Chennai Super Kings.

In his last six outings in this ground, Dhoni has scored 339 runs in ODIs with an average of 113. He has two centuries in 50-overs format too in this ground. His only double century in Test cricket came at the same venue in 2013 against the Australians.

While in the IPL, Dhoni guided CSK to two league titles in 2010 and 2011 while they finished runner-up as many as four times in eight season under his leadership.
