Internet Desk: Despite poor sports facilities and general Indian mindset to promote education above sports, Indian women did a fantastic job in Rio Olympics, and gave India, a lot to cheer about, with Dipa Karmakar reaching Poll Vault finals, Sakshi Malik grabbing Bronze in wrestling, PV Sindhu winning Silver and Deepika Kumari almost winning a medal.
Apart from Women, even Men fought with a never say die attitude be it in Hockey or Abhinav Bindra in shooting. Despite all the criticism from Indian Media and pathetic sports management, India were able to grab couple of Medals in Rio.
In India, cricket is considered to be favorite sport among the majority and cricketers are often worshiped as Gods and heroes, and when they voice an opinion for a concern, or a cause, the cause becomes stronger, and when Shobha De, criticised Indian athletes at Rio, many cricketers, including Sehwag, Sachin, and Virat came in support of athletes.
And as the campaign is coming to an end Viru who supported every Indian athlete throughout the events, has a suggestion for Government of India, to encourage sports in India, here is what Viru has to offer through a tweet:
