Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India star batter Virat Kohli has decided to take a break from white-ball cricket during India's upcoming tour of South Africa. The tour includes three T20 internationals, three ODIs, and two Test matches. Kohli, however, will be available for selection in the Test matches, with the first Test scheduled to begin on Boxing Day at Centurion and the second Test in Cape Town.

Kohli, who had an outstanding World Cup at home, accumulating 765 runs in 11 innings with three centuries, has conveyed his decision to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). He is currently on holiday in London after continuous cricketing commitments over the past few months. The last break Kohli took was before the World Cup in September.

The national selection committee, led by former India all-rounder Ajit Agarkar, will soon select the Indian team for all three formats. There is also uncertainty about the availability of Rohit Sharma, who captained the team to 10 consecutive wins in the World Cup before the final loss. BCCI secretary Jay Shah is expected to discuss the future roadmap with Rohit and Agarkar in the coming days.
